Happy anniversary. Glad to have been along for about 2/3 of the ride, including the old "Inside the Web" days.

Thanks, Jerry, for keeping it up and running through the years! |

Yeah I think I have been here for half, now some may not count the last year and a half, but here lately looks like some of us are trying to bring her back to life.

I've been here for half of the ten. Thanks to Jerry for keeping it up and running. I also would to thank everyone on here, for their knowledge of the game(I think some of it has improved my game, some on here my say different) and for the deals.

I found this one through Jay's board way back in 1998. I've made some good friends through this board and that in itself has been worth it.

Been here since 97 when I got my first computor. Actually met Jay Chasteen at the Smokey around 99 (Back when he played softball ). Heck I remember a guy called "Rams", Maggert, Mouse,Cat, T-Snide, NJM and the funniest of all time Cribbs. My all time favorite posters, not necessarily in that order. Who besides Mattun and my good buddy Tarman will step up and keep entertaining us? I'm out because I don't want to get banned for saying too much. LOL

Things I've learned from the Mohr Board
1) If you first post on the Buy/Sell/Trade board isnt the right format, Safety Cat will go all Board Nazi on you. 2) Don't say the non believers who died in the towers went to Hell on 9/11 3) Don't try to diffuse the situation by making fun of the guy who typed that with the South Park joke about the dead Catholic Minister confused about why he's in Hell and the "welcome guide" responds, "the correct answer was Mormon... Mormon. 4) The Velocit-E Maxload is a surprising good cold weather bat that can be had for under $100 bucks. 5) 90% of softball players can hit 400 ft. 6) The no plus EST actually has a P on it. The one without a + or P is ironically NOT the no plus EST. 7) Don't post "NS-You should check out Bowling for Columbine, it was an interesting commentary about the affects of fear on American society" without expecting everybody to jump on you as a crazy liberal trying to take their guns. "But it's not anti-gun" will be ignored as a defense. 9) Bat doctors don't like each other much. 10) I'm the only person in the world that liked the 3DX 11) While incredibly funny, trying to make a deal with Derek Gibson is very dangerous. 12) Being the first team with Velocit-es, Ultras, Wicked Composites, and Freaks was an advantage. 13) Mohr IDs go for a lot on eBay. 14) Every bat manufacturer sucks in some way. 15) Someday the best method of cleaning bats will be discovered. 16) Kim at Demarini has to be some hot sultry minx by the number of requests for her number. 17) The biggest effect of the Ultra was turning cleanup hitters in leagues with HR limits into whining babies wanting it banned every time anybody else hit a homer. 1 19) About one person a year dies playing softball, but youd think its more dangerous than sky diving with all these bans for our safety. 20) When faced with the question of whether Shakira is hot or skanky, the proper answer is hot, yet skanky. 21) Dont be the crazy alarmist screaming about how bad the decisions the government is making, nobody will listen no matter how much youve tried to prove your thoroughness of research and thoughtfulness in reviews of softball equipment. Common sense always loses out to fear of dangerous minority. And then everybody will sarcastically bitch about how youre always right about everything while voting for the same idiots to stay in office. 22) Youll also be blamed for the downfall of the board even if you average starting two political threads (typically both deleted) a year. 23) Hoarding Freaks was a good idea. 24) Hoarding 100mph Wicked Composites and Rockettechs wasnt. 25) Bat bags suck, backpacks are the way. 26) Its not a good idea to tell people, If you dont like the board, make one of your own! 27) While it was fun to buy lots of bats, let teammates try them out, and sell the rejects for profit. It wasnt fun once I noticed people were earning a living this way. 2 29) Sharky bought and sold so many bats while injured, Im seriously worried hes some sort of a batwhore. 30) Im eternally grateful to BBQMan for teaching me about brining a turkey. 31) How crazy fundamentalist religious you are is directly proportional to how gullible you are to what Fox News reports as facts. 32) Theres really a lot of player model Mizunos on eBay. 33) 98 MPH bats kinda suck. 34) There actually are guys who dont think lesbian love is a beautiful thing. And they dont live in San Francisco is the real crazy thing. 35) Appearantly, theres a lot of repressed closet homosexual Republican men oh wait, 34 makes total sense now. 36) Diet A&W Root Beer is the best diet drink. 37) There seems to be a lot of adult softball players who want a softball video game, but marketing gave thumbs down. 3 39) If you dress kind of goobery like you cant play to fake out the outfielders, youre an ass. If you get totally geared out to look like you can play, youre an ass. If you dress up with in goobery clothes like clown pants to show you know how to play, youre an ass. However, I refuse to play naked. 40) Where did everybody go? |

things I learned form the board
DON"T USE all CAPS when writing...Kreugs still does this to secretly annoy the ken/max/and other assorted ID's he used Vinci makes the best bags, gloves, batting glove and that Pete is the nicest/best/most hospitable sales guy out there....mostly true by my account too Tanel shoes are the best things out there since Nike put air in their shoes....I second that opinion Sharky has more bats in his closet NIW than i have EVER used in my life...even when recovering from knee/ankle/any other joint in his body surgery and he couldn't play anyhow Mattun has more good stuff to say than bad The first batch synergy was WAY hotter than the second batch We were all in time warp and bats really weren't re-certified..that goes only for those in a 2 year old hibernation and thus still have alot of great bats in original condition and Finally....the best thing about the board is I have personally met Hacker72, pops44 in Florida, talked with Sharky many times and had good emails with mattun and I cannot say one bad thing about any of them...way to go Mohr Board |

THANKS FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS JERRY...
I miss Safety Cats posts about the first time he met Huggs and his brother and they threw him in a dumpster and how Troy Brumbalow broke a bat over his head...those two things were his PROUDEST moments... Sorry I never made it to one of those "good ole boys" NCGT's... Members I have met: Pete Vinci (Pete22), DWhtney, NewJerichoMan, SafetyCat, Sawastea, Wildebeast, Batsleft, KennyH123, Ken15 (Max Johnson), Outlaw23, Buggs, Trumpball and a ton of others... Members I wish I met: Hackdaddy, Mattun, Franchise (Marcel), Gary Meyer, Huggs, Travis (just to punch him the pie hole), Sharky, Shorel, Steve Butler (heard he really is bigger than a brick chit house), Shorel, BobDawg (Diana), Troy Brumbalow (man remember how many of you bought those Intimidator 2's from me) and a few others... I've been on Jerry and Jays boards since the beginning so I'm gonna say 1994/95 maybe earlier because I remember the Ritches Superior on SoftballSales.com was the hotter bat out at the time and the 1995 DeMarini was just sneaking into the scene...I think the 1st one I remember was Jims Slowpitch Softball... It's been a lot of fun talking with the guys here and the Secret Santa stuff is always fun...I'll still be here and be my usual prick self until the end... JIMMY34 |

I will add more later, but first off....
Yes, the turkey brining is a great thing! I did that the first year I bought my house and everybody loved the turkey so much that they all asked for the recipe. It was a big hit. I did buy a bunch of bats over the years. Guilty as charged. I didn't ever really make money on them either. My brother was a pretty serious softball player back before he got sick, who also had no money. I always thought it was fun to buy bats and then let him pick one out every so often to keep. I gave a lot to teams too. It was a fun little hobby and that's pretty much it. I always made sure that I never had more bats than my friends had golf clubs though. That way I always felt like I never truly had a problem. I must say that I've made some real friendships here and I can't thank those people enough for getting me through some real tough times. RXB97, Shrimp17, Pylon, BeeKayBee, Mattun, Posey, JD, Jimmy34, PSK, MBG, Mac86, thePirate, Brad50, Chucky02 and on and on and on. I've had great e-mail/chat/phone conversations with many of you, and I am extremely grateful. There were entire months where I could barely leave my house and you guys got me through some tough times, even if you don't know it. I will always be eternally grateful to the members of this board for making my world a better place and for being their to support me, whether you realized you were doing it or not. Thanks to Jerry for keeping this board running for this time, and here's to ten more great years with some of the best people I know. |

happy anniversary..........been here since 9/00.
I have met many good folks through this board. For that, I will always be thankful. I figured this thread would make a good spot for one of my last posts on this particular board.......(outside of prison ministry threads on the Christian Board). I post some on the softballfans.com "training" forum, and on the SPSPU board. Hope to see you guys at ST events, Woodlawn Hitting Club (not sure the next time I will be down Pops), etc etc. |

yep,
been around here for many many years, but kinda fell off in the past 2. Have not played softball for about 2 yrs. Now I am in Anesthesia school, no time for internet either. it was super fun in the past. I rememeber cats diatribe, mouse's crazy actions (LOL) and all the other hilarious moments. I met a ton of cool people, made friends for life and and had great times at GT's/spring training. My first big one was in NC. people finally put a face with the name and saw that people did actually hit 400 ft when they say they did. spring training in florida was a blast...threeball and naka saw a woman flash us her chest then pick me up and flip me over her shoulder (when i was at my heavviest) and the good times at cocoa. I hope everyone is doing well. I am on here very very rarely. if you guys ever need me or want to shoot the S**t hit me upon myspace www.myspace.com/got_sleep holla Daniel |

I looked to see how long I'd been here, and today was my 6th anniversery. Wow! Much longer than I thought. Definately a low post count for that time, but only 10% of that amount has been in the last few years.
